Reporting to the VP, Brand & Creative / Executive Creative Director Western Europe, this role is responsible for the effective execution and delivery of all Creative Production Services required by the Western Europe Pan-Regional leadership as well as the UK Line of Business. The Director of Production will be working closely with the Production Manager, Accounts Manager and the Creative Directors to oversee all internal and external resources. Productions include on & off air brand management, on-air promotion, design production & management (TV, Print and Digital), integrated marketing campaigns across on & off air media platforms, programme design & support (packaging & title sequences), sponsorship & commercial production for sales teams, and brand support materials for UK business (trade, corporate & internal comms, press & publicity, reels, presentation materials). Core responsibilities of the role include: team management: effectively managing an internal production team of permanent and freelance staff, identifying and implementing best personnel, working practices and processes. creative production: to be the go-to person for how to best execute creative ideas, in terms of current production methods, personnel / agencies, quality and cost-effectiveness. facility management: planning and securing use of internal & external post production facilities. financial management: responsible for negotiating, presenting, monitoring and delivering against budgets and timelines – both for lines of business and individual key projects. The Director of Production will maintain effective working relationships, and represent the Central Creative Production team, with all relevant teams throughout the UK & international business. Key Responsibilities: Accountable to WE and UK budget holders for annual production budget in excess of £3.5 million. Principal point of contact for all stakeholders requiring creative services. Overseeing Production Managers for all UK and Pan-Regional creative output, who in turn manage project budgets, resources and timelines. Hands-on creative production on priority projects, such as channel branding, key promotions & 360 campaigns. (including facilitating creative feedback to 3rd party vendors). Responsible for identifying, sourcing, recruiting and mentoring creative production staff including freelance & permanent to fully support all team functions. Maintain & manage freelance roster of creative, design & editing freelancers. Proactively working with Account Managers & Creative Directors (Central and UK) to plan & prepare for up-coming campaigns and priorities. Proactively liaise with Marketing, Brand Solutions, and Corporate communications stakeholders to plan and prepare other Marketing, PR and Commercial support activity. Ensure legal & compliance management is fulfilled across projects by all members of the team. Oversee management of talent, music & footage clearances & reporting. Guide and support team to establish and develop workflows, tools and processes for internal & external production teams. Overall responsibility for production planning and costing for projects – including pitching and communicating to stakeholders - as well as ensuring accurate and timely provision of all requested deliverables per project. Identify and assign best suited resources to individual projects & campaigns ensuring appropriate allocation of talent, crews, staffing & facilities. Ensure effective management of production workflow of internal design team (motion, print and digital) by team. Establish and maintain working relationships and set up production & post-production arrangements with external and internal facilities and suppliers. Supervise roles of production manager, producers, post-production supervisor & production assistants to ensure most effective communication & project management is maintained throughout department. Develop & maintain the team’s knowledge base. Helps planning upcoming annual production spend across UK (with UK Creative Director and Channel heads) and West Central (with VP, ECD). Oversee project management and production of all commercial, sponsorship, corporate & trade campaigns as required. Evaluate & implement any material-sharing opportunities across global business to best assess cost saving exercises. Oversee role post production supervisor with management of internal facilities which includes FCP, Avid, ProTools, Smoke, Cinema 4D & After Effects based facilities.
